Living their best lives in their new homes

Meet some of our success stories!

Dougal

Dougal

Dougal

One of our 1st rescues, Dougal was initially very scared but very sweet. After a short time at WLRUK, he went off to his foster home where understandably they couldn't let him go and he joined their gang of westies.

Pickle

Dougal

Dougal

Pickle came into rescue at age 10 due to not getting on with the new resident dog in his previous home, but had been well loved. He settled well into foster and made himself very comfortable before being adopted.

Bella

Dougal

Bella

Bella was 12 years old when she came into rescue and was very sweet natured but needed quite a bit of medical attention. However once these were resolved she went on to be a great companion in her new home. Sadly, Bella recently passed to Rainbow Bridge, but we know that her time with her new family was full of love.

Ted

Fleur

Bella

Ted (5) came as his owner was doing a custodial sentence. He was initially grumpy, stressed and in quite a state but after grooming and a vet visit he fitted very well into WLRUK HQ and went off to his foster home where he had another Westie as a friend. Now settled in fully as an adopted dog

Fleur

Fleur

Fleur

You'd be right in thinking Fleur looks more cocker spaniel than westie! But at WLRUK we won't turn away a non-westie if they need help and Fleur was a breeding dog who had a difficult start in life but won over the hearts at WLRUK and made a permanent home there :)

Ollie

Fleur

At 18 months old, Ollie came into rescue and whilst he was extremely loving, he had a lot of training to undertake to learn boundaries but luckily he was a quick learner so was able to join his new furever home shortly after joining WLRUK.

Teddy eventually

Olive

Teddy

Teddy

Olive was a 5 year old ex breeding westie who arrived a bit smelly but still gorgeous. She is now living the dream in Kent. Her foster family fell in love with her and adopted her. She is much more confident from the little girl she came in as, which was timid and very scared.

Mimi

Teddy

Robbie

Mimi came into WLRUK as a 1-year-old ex breeding westie. She arrived smelly, scared but friendly. She is now living her best life in Kent with a family that absolutely adore her. She has really come out of her shell from being a very frightened ex-breeding girl, to a more confident, relaxed and pampered young lady.

Robbie

Robbie had a wonderful life with his adopted family in Suffolk. He came into rescue at 9 years young. He had many health issues and sadly passed to Rainbow Bridge in November 2023. His time with his new family was short, however whilst with them, he was loved and knew it. His health issues were treated as much as possible and he was comfo

His family were amazing and obviously extremely sad at his passing

Bertie

Robbie

Bertie

Bertie is living his best life ever in Cornwall (lucky Bertie!). He is extremely shy however he has recently got a new sister (another WLRUK rescue) who is helping with his confidence and hopefully this will help him come out of shell even more as time goes by. He and his new sister get on very well - awww!

Dolly

Robbie

Bertie

Dolly came into rescue at 2 years old after a short spell at WLRUK went to Sevenoaks to join an incredible gang of westies and is now living happily with them all. She is surrounded by love and more of her rescue brothers.

Gloria

Glorious Gloria joined the rescue aged 7 and very soon went to join a family in Middlesex and gained a new brother to run around with.

Rufus & Binky

Rufus & Binky

Rufus & Binky (Binks) grew up together in a loving home for 12 years, however circumstances changes and they came into rescue. After a great time with their foster family they found their furever home on the Isle of Wight with an amazing family with a fabulous garden to patrol morning, noon & night!

Basil

Rufus & Binky

Basil

Basil was 4 when he came into the rescue and was timid and withdrawn initially, however after no time at all found a fantastic new home with lots of brothers and sisters to play with and is now having the time of his life!

Archie

Coco & Jini

Coco & Jini

Archie came to us aged 13 and was in a pound and at risk of being PTS. His condition was poor and he was in a lot of discomfort which soon eased after a trip to the vets. He landed on his paws when he joined a family in Kent who are experienced with Westies and he is now living his best life with his new brothers and sisters.

Coco & Jini

Coco & Jini

Coco & Jini

These 2 girls arrived together. They were very timid. Coco was 7 1/2 yrs old and Jini was 6 and both were not house trained. Luckily they found a great family to go to together and are now flourishing and becoming confident girls.

Generate excitement

Archie came into rescue aged 4yrs old. He showed some aggressive signs towards other dogs initially, however this was in part due to an infection causing some pain and also due to some lack of socialisation. However as always a good news story as his found a loving forever home.
